Odette Park Trio
Piano trio from Minneapolis. Originals, standards, and the occasional Korean folk song turned inside out.
The story.
Odette Park grew up in St. Paul playing church piano on Sundays and her father's Bill Evans records the rest of the week. She studied composition, spent six years as a side player in Chicago, and came home in 2014 to start a trio with bassist Marcus Dray and drummer Eli Tarn. The lineup has not changed since.
The trio plays Park's originals alongside standards and a handful of Korean folk songs she has rearranged for the group. They have held the second-Thursday slot at The Birch Room since 2019 and have released three albums, most recently Small Hours, Large Rooms (2026), recorded live to tape over two days.
They work in two settings and are honest about the difference. For clubs, concert series and festivals they play two 50-minute sets of their own music. For receptions, dinners and corporate events they play quiet, familiar repertoire at conversation volume, in suits, with a small footprint. They read the room better than any band we have had. Dinner was quiet, the dancing was not.
Second-Thursday regulars ask for them by name. Easy load-in, on time, sound check in ten minutes.
We asked for a Korean folk song for the processional and they arranged it for us. Nobody else would have.

What we need.
- Hospitality
Water and coffee on stage. A hot meal for three when the set runs past 8pm. A green room or a quiet corner to tune.
- Travel party
Three musicians, no crew. We drive within 200 miles of Minneapolis; further out needs lodging for three.
- What we need from the venue
A tuned acoustic piano when there is one. Otherwise a 6 by 4 foot spot for our keyboard and stand, two 20-amp circuits, and a load-in door within 50 feet of the stage.
- Backline
We bring our own keyboard, bass amp and a compact drum kit. House kits welcome if they are in good shape; house piano preferred.
